A touch of Massachusetts

Oak Hill Avenue at Monroe Street
This is the villages newest truss installation. Back in the early
1960s,a pagoda signal guarded this intersection; then a set of truss-mounted
signals were installed in the early 1970s, about the time the old Endicott-Johnson
factories were being demolished. This installation was erected in 1987,
and offers some distinction with the doghouse-style traffic
light on the left; it has yellow casings, and some of the doors are black,
while all the visors are yellow (similar to some colorings of signals
in Massachusetts). Note also the extension on the truss arm as well. This
photo was taken 31 March 2002.
