McKinley Avenue at North Street
This is the other intersection that received the original set of truss-mounted signals in 1964. Today, three of the four trusses still have the “breadloaf” signals (yellow casings, black doors and visors), albeit with modern 12" yellow and green arrow lenses (in an all-yellow signal part) mounted on the bottom. Due to an accident around 1996 or so, the fourth truss, facing eastbound traffic on North Street, has all-yellow signals that have 12" red lenses, 12" yellow arrow and green arrow lenses, and 8" yellow and green lenses. Incidentally, note the 12" flashing yellow warning lights on the IBM overpass. Photo taken 31 March 2002, looking northbound on McKinley.
