Bridge/Cowing and West Bayard streets
Seneca Falls, the birthplace of women’s rights, has a very interesting signal installation at this location. It is a Crouse-Hinds, Art Deco signal (Syracuse style), with yellow casings and visors, and green doors. This interesting unit’s color scheme is reminiscent of the Massachusetts scheme, which uses dark colors for doors, and yellow for the rest of the signal exterior. Above, view is looking West; below, the view is looking north, toward the bridge. Most other signal installations in the village are under the jurisdiction of the New York State Department of Transportation. Photo taken 31 March 2002.
