At a school crossing

A hot Fourth of July, 2002 on Genesee Street

On Genesee Street

This set of vintage signals serve a pedestrian crossing at a school on the main road in New Hartford, a suburb of Utica. This pleasant community has vintage signals, and this is no exception. Note the control box to the right of the fixed, four-way signal.

Note: Until about 2000 or so, the next set of lights replaced a set of (interestingly) safety-yellow signals the New York State Department of Transportation installed around 1969.
