At the school

Getting darker

Darkness is starting to descend at Main and Valley View on the day before Thanksgiving. There is a cloudy spot on the camera lens, probably due to the inclement weather of the day. The darkness makes this vintage (1940s) Crouse-Hinds blinker’s light look all the more vivid.

Main Street at Valley View

The Webjefe is not certain that this blinker was originally at this location. It may have been moved here to regular traffic to and from the school located here. If you look closely both at the signal head and at the control box (at right), you can see traces of the original yellow paint. The control box is quite ancient, perhaps from the 1930s. Both photos taken 27 November 2002.
